Big Bubble Bucket

The Big Bubble Bucket is the perfect toy for a bubble-obsessed little boy. First and foremost, the Bubble Bucket is spill-proof, which is essential when dealing with a toddler who doesn't quite understand the impact of tipping a bottle of liquid over. Slippin' and Slidin'

Lucas enjoyed(?) his first sledding adventure with Greta...I think. There were no tears shed, so at least he wasn't hating the outside activity. I really do wonder what is going through his little head when he stares so expressionlessly at everyone and everything around him. The biggest challenge was getting his boots on and then getting him to walk in them. It's difficult to maneuver such heavy clodhoppers on little feet.



Living in MN where it is cold and snowy six+ months out of the year requires one to find some outdoor activities that make the winter a little more enjoyable. It's been years since I've been sledding but remember how much fun it was as a kid. As Lucas gets a bit older, I have a feeling he will find the rush of speeding down a steep, snowy hill to be just as enjoyable as I did.

Baby, It's Cold Outside...

...yet this little guy would still prefer to run around without clothes on. It's a good thing he found my scarf to keep warm.

Skol, Vikings!

We played a joke on our Corporate Controller at work this week, which involved wearing Vikings paraphernalia. Lucas thoroughly enjoyed the purple and gold beads I brought home for him to play with. He insisted they be worn as an ankle bracelet!

Lucas enjoyed our Saturday activities, which included a trip to the library for some new books to read, and a trip to Kohl's where he got to pick out a new toy. Yes, I know Christmas is right around the corner, but he is so bored with his toys these days. If anyone has any good ideas for toys they think will entertain a 15 month plus little boy, please let me know as I have not started Christmas shopping for this little guy yet!

Other exciting weekend activities: I cleaned out our closet and filled 2.5 trash bags with clothes we will be donating! Unfortunately, our closet still seems like a bit of a disaster so perhaps I didn't get rid of enough.

Messy

Tonight, Lucas made a mess of my post-its. But that was nothing compared to the large bowel movement he had in the middle of the living room floor after his bath sans diaper.

Fresh Air

Lucas had so much fun crawling around on the deck this afternoon. He was almost giddy with excitement. Enjoy it while you can, little one, the cold weather will be here all too soon!

I Can Load a Dishwasher Like Nobody Else

Lucas has a new obsession lately...with the dishwasher. He digs right into those dirty dishes, determined to help. We're not sure what the method to his madness is but do know that if we were to run the dishwasher after he was finished with those dirty dishes, we probably wouldn't have a working dishwasher anymore.

Radio Flyer

Lucas tried out his new Radio Flyer wagon this morning. It was a birthday gift from Gramma and Grampa Totland. He enjoyed his new wheels immensely. I, on the other hand, was a bit nervous that he was going to topple over the side. We're going to have to work on a few concepts, including "sit still" and "hold on."

My Day

I could stare at this face all day long. Today, I was lucky enough to do just that.

Cheeks

You probably thought I was talking about these cheeks...



...but I'm really referring to these cheeks.



These bad boys have been making more of an appearance in our house lately. Lucas decided he dislikes diaper and clothing changes and will do anything to avoid these activities, including arching his back, twisting and turning, crying and trying to escape through his closed bedroom door. Eventually I win the battle, but Lucas puts up a pretty good fight.

The Tale of the Wooden Spoon

Lucas has been a little bit obsessed with this wooden spoon lately. I'm not sure why. Perhaps he thinks he is Harry Potter and can use the wooden spoon (aka wand) to cast a magical spell (my guess would be on Lily in order to get her to stop barking), or perhaps he would like to make himself some porridge or perhaps he just likes trying to poke my eyes out. Whatever the case may be, he is a little bit obsessed with this wooden spoon.

I had to chuckle when I got to work this morning. Tucked deep into my bag, among my breast pump, bottles and other nursing supplies, was the wooden spoon. I wonder where Lucas will hide this little treasure next.

Weekend

On this weekend's agenda was a little silly and a lot of fun. Here's a little silly...



...and here's a lot of fun, at Jami and Tom's BBQ. We spent the evening eating, playing volleyball, eating, watching fireworks(courtesy of Rosemount's Leprechaun Days) and eating. It was a fun and filling night, spent with old friends and new!

Dance

It should come as no surprise that Lucas likes to dance and already has a sense of rhythm. Here is a short preview of Lucas' moves.

Greta's Back

Last time Greta visited us, she was only about ten months old. This visit brought a much older and wiser Greta who enjoyed the following:

*Playing ball with Lily (aka puppa),
*Playing hide-and-seek (it was very difficult to find Greta sitting in the corner with her hands over her eyes),
*Carrying Lucas' turtle basket
*Signing "all gone"
*Saying "ticka ticka ticka ticka ticka"

Greta: "Lucas, I'm playing with the cookie jar right now. You go play with dollie." Note - dialogue sounded like a high-pitched squeak.



Lucas grunts back in return and finds he is fascinated with the curl in dollie's hair.



Lucas: "You are such a ham, Greta. You really crack me up."



Greta models the turtle basket and determines it will work for a new handbag. What a little trendsetter!



Time for a water break!

On Friday afternoon, I got together with a couple of friends / ex-coworkers from Ernst & Young. We all had baby boys within two months of each other. What fun! Sidhaan, Matthew and Lucas had fun playing together while the moms spent some time catching up.
